Tipping the scale at 50 stones (700 pounds), Terri Smith, only 49 years old, is the heaviest woman on the planet. In one of the most unusual photos below, it’s understandable why she is unable to move, stand, or even roll over.

Smith is from Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and is trapped in her bedroom. Presently, she is trying to lose weight. She has terrific headaches, and needs an MRI scan to check for a potential brain tumor. She is too big to fit into the machine, regrettably. She is too big to reportedly get through the hospital entrance doors.
The prior world’s heaviest woman was Sharon Meysimier, from Britain, who weighed in at 45 stones (640 pounds). She died in 2010. For the record, a New Jersey woman, Donna Simpson is vying for this title now. She weighs presently 604, and doing her best to not only surpass Terri Smith, and is munching her way to a half ton (1,000 pounds), she hopes.
Terri relies on loving husband Myron, 44, and oldest daughter Najah, 30, to do everything for her. She must be washed, fed and dressed on the bed. Doctors tried to gain permission for Ms. Smith to have her MRI brain scan at the Detroit Zoo, where there is an MRI machine for elephants. The license at the zoo is only for elephants, however.
Dr Dariush Saghafi, who is trying to help her, said, “Caring for someone of Terri’s size is very difficult. It is very hard to move and transport her. Hopefully, she will find a way to lose the weight.
