Meet Ice man Wim Hof, a daredevil Dutchman. In January 2011, Wim Hof ran a half Marathon (21 km) near the North Pole, in Finland. He wore only a pair of shorts and was barefoot. The temperature was 35 below on the ground and snow that day. Late in 2011, he’ll try another world record on Everest’s north side.

The expedition will be led by Werner de Jong (a Dutchman, as is Wim) as Wim, will attempt to climb parts of Everest wearing only shorts, and set still another world record.
Wim presently has 9 world records, and has trained hard for many years to withstand cold, much like the Tibetan monks. He is the only man, not a monk from Tibet, who can actually raise his body temperature with his mind.
Wim is able regulate his core heat to control the temperature of his skin. Something of a medical marvel, He can withstand cold that could kill or seriously injure other people. The half Marathon that he ran would have killed an ordinary man within a few minutes.
Among the strange people of the world, he has performed other super-human feats. One was miraculously was hanging between 2 hot air balloons by his middle finger at an altitude of 1500 meters on one exhibit of his extraordinary powers. Once he was back inside the basket, Wim then quickly climbed to the top of the balloon, while still at 1,500 meters!
In 2011, he was subjected to an experiment in which researchers drew blood from him while he was meditating. They learned that he creates antibodies, which could mean a medical breakthrough in defeating disease someday.
